4 Days private desert trip from Marrakech to Fes
Introduction:
During this 4 days tour from Marrakesh to Fez, you will enjoy the magic of the desert and its splendor as you make your journey to Fes, drive through the atlas mountains and the thousand kasbahs, stroll the great canyons and the gorges of Dades and Toudra in a guided walking tours, experience a guided camel trek to see a beautiful sunset over the golden sand dunes and spend a lifetime night in desert camp. While you drive from Merzouga to Fes, you will have the chance to meet a wild Barbary apes at the cedar forest in Azrou.

Tour itinerary:
Day 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – AITBENHADDOU – OUARZAZATE – ROSE VALEY – DADES GORGES
After Breakfast in your Riad, you will meet your driver/guide to start your 3 days desert trip to Sahara, drive towards Ouarzazate, crossing the Atlas through Tizi’n’Tichka pass (2,260 meters), these gorgeous mountains offer a big variety of landscapes and the view of several hamlets and sceneries. After a stop for photos we will take a track full of outstanding landscape that will take us to the village of Telouet to visit the Kasbah of el Glaoui and the village of Ait Benhaddou; a fortified village marked by the UNISCO as world heritage. After exploring the Kasbah and having lunch, then, our journey continues towards Ouarzazate, where we will stop to visit the cinema studios (optional and entrance fees not included). The region of Ouarzazate is populated by Berbers who became sedentary despite the extremely harsh weather conditions. After visiting the Kasbah Taourirte; a world heritage site and beautiful Kasbah at the heart of Ouarzazate, we will head to dades Gorges, crossing the palm valley of Skoura enjoying its Kasbahs.
Our last stop for photos will be at the rose valley before reaching the Dades Gorges where we will spend the night. Overnight and accommodation with dinner and breakfast in a guest house or Hotel.
Day 2: TOUDRA GORGES – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA DESERT – ERG CHEBBI
After breakfast in your accommodation, you can enjoy an early morning walk and stretch your legs in the Dades Gorge, before driving through the valley of thousand Kasbahs, the Dades valley to see the amazing rock formation “the monkey toes”, and then, continue towards Todra Gorges, where you can take a pleasant walk between its imposing canyon walls more than 200 meters, After a walking tour in the palm oasis of Todra, we will continue driving to the desert through the palm grove of Tafilalet. Arrival at the hotel on foot dunes of Erg Chebbi, relax and enjoy this breathtaking scenery while sipping a welcome mint tea waiting for a camels, then, you will start a new exporative caravan camel trek accompanied by an experienced camel man, after an 1 hour and a half of camel ride wading through sand dunes to the heart of the desert to watch the beautiful sunset. Wrapped by the Great Dune, and enjoying the music of drums, dinner and Moroccan tea, you can see the immense sky of stars and sleep in nomadic tents.
Day 3: Exploring Merzouga
Early wake up and camel ride to contemplate a wonderful beautiful sunrise among the dunes of Chebbi sand dunes changing with the sunrise, after shower and breakfast in hotel, we wil start and explorative journey of Merzouga to explore and discover its wonders, Begin by The Khamlia, a small village of Gnaoua; black people originally from subsahara, here we will enjoy a peaceful moments listening to their romantic music, almost certainly the reason you came here in the first place, and by far the best way to experience a desert trip. After discovering the culture and music of Gnaoua, we will continue far in the desert to meet the nomads of the desert, where we will share a family moments with the nomad family and learn about their daily lifestyle and traditions.
Then, stop for lunch. And then, in the afternoon you will have a chance to experience a sand bording, climb the sand dunes or just relax at the hotel enjoying a drink.
Day 4 :Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
If you like, you can wake up early again to take some last photos of the desert before leaving to Fes, after breakfast at your breakfast. We will start a new explorative journey towards Fes, through the beautiful scenic desert and mountain landscapes, crossing the Zizi valley and wonderful landscapes of the middle Atlas Mountains. Stop for short time at Ziz valley at leisure to enjoy the beauty of the location, if you wish, and then departure direction Fes, via Azrou. Stop for lunch at Midelt, and then, continue to reach the cedar forest in Azrou, where we will meet the wild Barbary Apes (macaque Monkeys). Then continue to Ifran referred as Switzerland of Morocco, continue to reach Fes, transfer to your Accommodation for an overnight and accommodation. End of the tour
